Chris Muraoka was born and raised in Waianae and graduated from Waianae High School in 1995. He served in the U.S. Navy and owns SureCan, a Waianae contracting business employing landscapers, janitors, truck drivers and mechanics, most of whom live on the coast. He served on the Waianae Neighborhood Board before his election in 2024 and has represented District 45 since. He campaigns on commonsense politics and on the issues he hears at home: homelessness, violent crime and schools. He points to transparency measures, from Sunshine Law compliance to audits of state contractors, as the way to rebuild trust.

Public Safety on the Coast
Violent crime and homelessness are the two issues Chris hears most from Waianae and Makaha families, and they are where he starts.
Jobs That Stay in Waianae
Chris runs a Waianae business where most employees live in the community. He brings that same view to the Legislature: keep the work, and the wages, on the coast.
Transparency and Audits

Chris wants Sunshine Law compliance, fiscal notes, and audits of the House and Senate, of nonprofits, of no-bid contractors, and of any contractor working under an emergency proclamation.

Workforce and Licensing

Chris backed the commercial driver's license measure that directly addresses the driver shortage affecting industries across the state.
