House District 32

Garner Shimizu has lived in District 32 since the third grade. He attended Moanalua Elementary, Intermediate and High Schools, earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and built and owned a sheet metal company before retiring. He came out of retirement to run, and has represented the district since 2024. He applies an engineer's approach to legislative work: analyze the system, find the inefficiency, weigh the real cost. He works the job year-round with no other employment, and raised his family in the community he now represents.
