Kelly Kitashima is a Native Hawaiian, a working mom and a business leader born and raised on Oahu. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and earned her degree in Hotel Management from UNLV on a cheer scholarship. For more than 24 years she has worked in the private sector managing teams, multimillion-dollar budgets and businesses in Hawaii's hospitality industry, leading large teams, creating local jobs and delivering results. She is a certified substitute teacher, Board President of Uluae Learning Center, and an advocate against human trafficking. She describes herself not as a career politician but as a problem-solver who knows families and businesses cannot simply spend more when costs rise, and neither should government.

THE ISSUES

Affordability
The cost of groceries, housing, electricity and everyday necessities keeps putting pressure on Central Oahu families, while small businesses face rising costs and government red tape. Kelly wants to make it easier to live and stay in Hawaii by cutting unnecessary costs and supporting local business.
Safety
Families want to know their neighborhoods are safe for their keiki and their kupuna. Kelly is focused on practical solutions that deliver that, rather than proposals that sound good and change nothing.
Accountability

Kelly wants responsible spending, real transparency and measurable results from tax dollars. Her argument is simple: families and businesses cannot just spend more when costs rise, and government should be held to the same standard.
