Sheila Walker is a small business owner and community leader who has made Maui her home since 2016. She is running for the state House because the decisions made now, after several tragic fires, economic shutdowns and the vote to eliminate short-term rentals, will determine whether local families rebuild and lead Maui's future or are forced to leave while outside investors reshape the island. She has committed to listening to every voice in District 11 regardless of political affiliation, and to delivering balanced, community-driven representation without increasing taxes. This is her third run for the Legislature, and she has grown her share of the vote each time she has been on the ballot.

After the fires, the shutdowns and the short-term rental vote, the choices made now decide whether local families rebuild and lead Maui's future or are priced out while outside investors reshape the island. Sheila is running to make sure it is the former.
Strong Infrastructure
Sheila is calling for increased funding for fire and police, safe emergency exits, an overpass at the high school, well-maintained parks and a working boat ramp. Government should answer to the people and spend taxpayer dollars wisely.
Protecting Big Beach

Sheila opposes the proposed development at Big Beach and will work to keep one of Maui's most treasured natural places open to the people who live here.

Healthcare for South Maui

Sheila is pushing for state-of-the-art healthcare in the district, including mental health services and protection of informed consent.

Education First

Sheila supports higher teacher pay and expanded school choice, so families in Kihei, Wailea and Makena have real options and classrooms have the teachers they need.
